Even before you cut them, they're beautiful - all the subtlety of their colouring, and that quirky topknot.

At the risk of coming across as a food pedant, those are pomegranates not persimmons.
Persimmons are orange and their skin is edible.
I still haven't seen An Inconvenient Truth, but I'd like to.
Thank you for the correction - as soon as I read it, I realised that I'd meant pomegranates. Dopey Dora strikes again. I'll correct the post heading so I don't lead others astray. I really should photograph the fruit shop labels too, for when I have a later forgettion....
Do see An Inconvenient Truth. Wonderful, engaging, important film.
I too am glad an Inconvenient Truth won. It is possibly the most important film ever made. Now if we could just get our leaders in the U.S. to watch it.
