It was good to have noticed this. I've planted hederacea/native violets in gardens before now, but this is the first time I've seen them in the wild. They're willing growers in the garden - not greedy, not demanding, but covering shady spaces where other plants refuse to grow and flowering cheerfully. There was also something about the shaft of sunlight, the slice finding its way through, that appealed to me. Maybe because there was enough time to stop and look long enough to see it, instead of rushing by.
It's in yesterday's mosaic, but I decided to give it a day of its own.

Love this picture. Loved that you saw it and snapped the picture. I love those shots too. I especially like when you have a cloudy day and a couple rays of light sneak through, those are beautiful too.

I got the second "Poem a Day" anthology for Christmas too and was sorry (though interested) to read Sheenagh Pugh's feelings about "Sometimes" because I've really liked it for a while and it does cheer one up. Ah well! She sounds rather crusty, though I'm absolutely with her about people mucking around with the words. Mind you, one never does feel satisfied with the things one writes, after a while, so I suppose it's understandable.
