This carpet of silver leaves has been growing and spreading for months over winter and when I walked past it today, had sprung forth with purple daisyflowers. I'm sure they're loverly when open, but I rather like them furled in the fading light, like this. It suggests fairy skirts, or a glorious umbrella to shade the Great Panjandrum.
